Yorkshire’s Leading Private Dental Practice
If left untreated, a dental pulp infection can lead to a painful abscess or even tooth extraction.
Root canal treatment is a common dental procedure.
Under a local anaesthesic, your dentist will use a small file to remove the pulp from the tooth before sealing it with a special filling material.
Once the root canal is sterile and the tooth has been sealed, your dentist may recommend a porcelain crown on top of the tooth to restore its look and functionality, as well as to protect the tooth structure.
In some cases, your dentist may need to place a post into the root canal to provide support for the crown.
