Meet the team
Mr Richard Mitchell
BDS qualified University Manchester 1993
Richard first decided on a career in dentistry aged 14 years old after he underwent extensive treatment himself. Following graduation from Manchester University he worked in a number of practices gaining experience before taking over at Wickersley in 1998.
He developed a passion for providing the highest quality dental treatment combined with exceptional service for his patients. He particularly wanted to be able to deliver this in his hometown of Rotherham.
It was these two factors that led to the evolution of Wickersley Dental and Implant Practice as we see it today, a patient focused centre of excellence that he is proud of. Richard continues to keep up to date with all the latest developments in the dental world through his postgraduate educational development.
When not working, Richard enjoys nothing more than a round of golf and spending time in the countryside with his dogs. As a keen skier of over 30 years he also looks forward to his annual trip to the mountains!
Mr Michael Stokes
BDS qualified University Sheffield 1999
Michael arrived at Wickersley Dental and Implant Practice in 1999 after qualifying from Sheffield University. He spent his first vocational training year under the supervision of Richard, at the time a certified vocational trainer.
Michael quickly realised that Wickersley Dental and Implant Practice’s high standards and ethos on delivery of dental care was how he too wanted to provide treatment for patients. From the year 2000 to the present time Michael has remained at the practice as an associate constantly developing his skills on postgraduate courses. He has a particular passion for adult orthodontics and is a certified invisalign provider.
When relaxing away from work Michael loves to spend time with his wife Deborah and young boys, Tom and Ben.
