In an emergency, our patients will be seen within 24 hours and, if phoning first thing in the morning, they will usually be seen that day during our opening hours. For an out-of-hours emergency, patients can contact the practice to hear a recorded message for further instructions.
All appropriate treatments can be performed at the practice at an emergency appointment and your dentist will discuss the treatment options to help you make an informed decision about which treatment option is best for you.
If you’re an existing patient at Wickersley Dental Practice, if possible, we will always try to book your emergency appointment with your regular dentist. However, our priority is to sort out your problem so that may mean seeing either Mr Mitchell or Mr Stokes. Non-registered patients will be offered the first available slot with either dentist.
For patients covered by our practice plan, there is no charge for emergency appointments. Any remedial treatment will be charged with the usual 10% discount for our plan patients. There is a call out charge for out-of-hours but the good news is that this is refunded by the plan insurance which also gives worldwide cover. This means that should you have an emergency whilst on holiday at home, or abroad, you can contact the 24-hour emergency number and an associated dentist in your locality will be found to treat you. In the event of an emergency through trauma at home or abroad the plan insurance also covers the cost of the actual treatment.
